Christmas Gift!

I found Christmas Gift! by Ferrol Sams earlier this year at the annual library book sale. For years, I’ve been collecting Christmas books, and this one is welcome addition to my collection.

Mr. Sams wrote this book about his memories of Christmas in Fayetteville, Georgia surrounded by his family and their hired hands. It is a lovely story about his family’s holiday traditions during the early part of the 20th century.

I especially liked the part where he describes his aunt making cake from scratch by hand in pre-hand mixer days. I could feel the butter between my fingers!

This is a short read for the holidays and ends with a touching memory as the author shares the family Christmas Gift tradition with his grandchildren.  I think you will enjoy it.
